For the eighth year, the Catholic Charities Appeal of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia partnered with the Philadelphia Phillies for a fundraiser and a fun night out for a ballgame on Friday, Sept. 10. While the Phils fell in an 11-2 loss to the visiting Colorado Rockies, everyone was a winner since proceeds of tickets sold through CCA benefited thousands of people in the region via housing for the homeless, community food cupboards, afterschool enrichment and recreation for youth, and family support services. Since more than 500 tickets were sold, Father Sean Bransfield was invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.
