A special pre-Lenten presentation featuring Paul E. Jarzembowski will take place Sunday, Feb. 20 titled “Hope from the Ashes: Preparing for Lenten Evangelization.”
The presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, followed by Mass at 6:30 in the basilica.
Each Ash Wednesday and Lent, the church experiences a sudden increase in engagement, especially among those who are otherwise disconnected from a faith community. The talk will explore this annual phenomenon and consider how active Catholics and Christians can respond this coming Lent with an evangelizing heart for one another.
The presenter is an internationally recognized Catholic leader and the author of “Hope from the Ashes: Insights and Resources for Welcoming Lenten Visitors.”
He is also the associate director for the laity at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Washington, D.C.
