The Pyxis Piano Trio performs Saturday, May 21 at 7 p.m. in the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia.
Trio members Luigi Mazzocchi, violin; Jie Jin, cello and Hiroko Yamazaki, piano will perform two mainstays of the chamber music canon: Beethoven’s Op. 11 trio for piano, violin and cello (the “Gassenhauer”) and Brahms’ Op. 8 trio for piano, violin and cello.
The concert is part of the Music in Your Neighborhood series presented by the cathedral, Artcinia and Partners for Sacred Places. All are invited to bring families and friends to celebrate Artcinia’s commitment to expanding our community through the universal language of music.
