Archbishop Nelson Pérez is personally inviting area Catholic organizations to sign up for a major fundraising effort that has yielded millions of dollars in support in recent years.

In May, the archbishop announced the Archdiocese of Philadelphia would partner with the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) to participate in #iGiveCatholic for the third year in the row.

The initiative, nationally recognized as the official Catholic Giving Day, is celebrated annually on #GivingTuesday, which follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. This year, #iGiveCatholic will take place on Tuesday, November 29.

This week, Archbishop Pérez released a special video message via the CFGP YouTube Channel to highlight the impact of #iGiveCatholic, and to encourage all Catholic schools, parishes, and nonprofit ministries in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to participate.

The campaign “celebrates our unique Catholic heritage and inspires faithful stewards to support vital church ministries,” he said.

Last year, 124 Catholic organizations across the archdiocese raised more than $1.7 million through #iGiveCatholic.
