Archbishop Nelson Pérez will be the principal celebrant and homilist during an Oct. 15 pilgrimage for archdiocesan faithful to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
The day-long event, sponsored by the archdiocesan Office for Divine Worship and the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, will honor Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
The pilgrimage will begin with an 11 a.m. arrival gathering at the basilica, followed by an 11:15 a.m. invitation to prayer with the communal recitation of the holy rosary.
Confessions will be available, and the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for eucharistic adoration.
At 1 p.m., a procession and crowning of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary will take place.
At 2:30 p.m., Archbishop Pérez will celebrate a solemn Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
The pilgrimage will conclude at 4:30 p.m.
During the time confessions will be heard and Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament will take place, there will be opportunities for private tours of the Basilica as well as private prayer.
Please note that the Basilica’s cafeteria is not able to accommodate the volume of attendees, who are asked to make their own lunch arrangements.
