This year’s graduating seniors amassed an astounding $528,752,077 to further their educational journeys at colleges and universities across the country.

The cumulative scholarship total was unveiled June 22 by Dr. Brooke Tesche, Superintendent of Secondary Schools and Schools of Special Education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and Mr. Jay DeFruscio, Chief Operating Officer for Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The announcement was shared on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools (AOPS) social media platforms on Facebook and on Instagram.

In making this announcement Dr. Tesche said, “We commend the members of the Class of 2023 for their hard work and achievements.” She continued, “We also extend deep gratitude for the dedication exhibited by parents, teachers, staff, and administrators in all of our high schools for guiding our young people throughout their educational journey.”

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez recently shared an end of year message to all Archdiocesan school families, faculty, staff and administrators, and especially to the Class of 2023.

In it he said, “Enjoy graduation and the well deserved celebration of your accomplishments. You have worked so hard and achieved so much in the classroom, on the playing field, in your communities, and beyond. Congratulations to you and all those who have supported you along the way!”
