Four men will be ordained permanent deacons for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Saturday, June 10 at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul during Mass celebrated by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez.

The following men will be ordained permanent deacons:
Paul A. Fisher is a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Strafford with his wife, Maria. Paul graduated from North Brunswick Township High School and Rutgers University in New Jersey. He received a master’s degree in counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. Paul and Maria are licensed professional counselors in private practice.
James J. McGonigal is a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Springfield. He has three children, Colin (Amanda), Ryan, and Megan, and four granddaughters. Jim’s beloved wife, Marie, died in December 2021. Jim graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School and received his bachelor’s degree in business management from West Chester University. He is an Auto Claim Supervisor with State Farm Insurance Company.
David M. McGovern is a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Levittown. He and his wife, Darlene, have two daughters, Rachel Scriven (Kent) and Lauren McGovern, and one granddaughter. Dave graduated from Northeast Catholic High School and received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from LaSalle University. He is a Technical Project Leader with Educational Testing Services.
Christopher Parker is a member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish in North Wales. Chris and his wife, Ashley, have two children, April and Joseph (Abby), and one grandson. Chris graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics and an MBA in international business from Temple University. Chris is a Chief Credit Officer, Surety with Chubb Limited.
