The I.H.M. Sisters (Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) new congregational leaders were officially installed on Sunday, August 20.
The I.H.M. Sisters held its election on Friday, June 30 – Saturday, July 1 at the order’s Villa Maria House of Studies in Malvern.
Some 174 sister delegates elected Sister Mary Ellen Tennity, General Superior of the Congregation; Sister John Evelyn DiTrolio, Sister Assistant; Sister Monica Therese Sicilia, First Councilor; Sister Mary Sue Carwile, Second Councilor; and Sister Kathleen Monica Schipani, Third Councilor.
In addition to providing leadership and guidance during their five year term, the General Administration oversees the work of the I.H.M. Sisters in the United States and South America, which includes education at all levels and pastoral and other diverse outreach ministries.
Today more than 560 Sisters comprise the Immaculata branch of the I.H.M. Sisters who currently staff schools in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire, and in Peru.
