Sister Rita Dolores Woehlcke, SSJ
Sister Rita Dolores Woehlcke SSJ, (formerly Sister George Ellen), age 77, died September 23, 2023, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late George H. and Helen (nee McNichol) Woehlcke,
she attended St. Ambrose Grade School and Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia, Pa.
In September 1964 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1972.
Sister Rita ministered in the Dioceses of Baltimore, Camden, Harrisburg, Metuchen, Philadelphia and Trenton.
Sister of Leo (Susan), Anne and the late George Woehlcke, she is also survived by nieces, nephews and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Villa. Services will also be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website, www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
