As the first session of the Synod on Synodality in Rome draws to a close, the Vatican released an open letter earlier today from the delegates addressed to the People of God.
The two-and-a-half-page letter published Oct. 25 on the official Synod website highlights the work that has been undertaken thus far and expresses the hope that over the next year, Catholics will “concretely participate in the dynamism of missionary communion indicated by the word ‘synod’.” The letter is available in multiple languages including English and Spanish.
In a June 10 statement, the Archdiocese announced that Julia Osęka, an international student from Poland attending Saint Joseph’s University, had been appointed as one of 10 non-bishop voting delegates chosen to represent the North American region at the synod. The Archbishop recently sat down with Julia for a one-on-one conversation in his latest vlog for CatholicPhilly.
The second gathering of the Synod on Synodality is scheduled to take place in Rome October 2024.
