Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez was the principal celebrant and homilist Dec. 11 at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Annual Mass honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe on the eve of her feast day. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas, Unborn Children, and the New Evangelization. The entrance procession in the Cathedral Basilica at the beginning of Mass was led by Danza Azteca Nuestra Señora de Fatima, a group of Azteca dancers from Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Bensalem. Faithful from throughout the City of Philadelphia also processed on foot from their home parishes to the Cathedral. Following reception of the Holy Eucharist during Mass, an icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe was processed from the sanctuary through the aisles of the Cathedral. An estimated 1,200 people were in attendance. (Photos: Sarah Webb)
