Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) announced the opening of nominations for its 2024 BLOCS Teacher of the Year Award. The award is sponsored by FlynnO’Hara Uniforms.
Parents and students from across the five-county Archdiocese of Philadelphia are encouraged to nominate educators who go above and beyond to support them in achieving their goals and overcoming challenges.
The Teacher of the Year will be celebrated at the 2024 BLOCS Gala May 9. The honoree will receive recognition for their dedication to students and Catholic education along with a $5,000 award.
“The 2024 BLOCS Teacher of the Year Award is in perfect harmony with the theme of our gala – Lighting Up the Future – because it empowers students to recognize and express their gratitude to the educators who have made a significant impact on their lives,” said Katie Rose Thornton, Director of Marketing and Communications at BLOCS.
Sean Flynn, CEO of FlynnO’Hara Uniforms, said, “There are few factors that impact the trajectory of an individual student quite like an exceptional teacher.”
“We are honored to support BLOCS in recognizing educators who ‘light up the future’ by creating learning environments where students feel welcome, seen, and supported. While the school uniform often represents inclusivity, community, and opportunity, teachers are the ones who bring these values to life in their classrooms every day.”
The winning teacher will be selected by the BLOCS selection committee.
