Sister Ruth O’Neill, SSJ (Formerly Sister Marie Timothy), age 91, died April 18, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa.

The daughter of the late Francis J. and Reba (Wood) O’Neill, she attended

St. Timothy Grade School and Little Flower High School.

In September 1951 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1959.

Sister Ruth ministered in the Dioceses of Camden, Newark and Philadelphia.

Sister of the late Joseph and Francis O’Neill and Anne Hitchner, she is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and members of her congregation, The Sisters of Saint Joseph.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 26. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
