Five men were ordained as Transitional Deacons for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez during the Rite of Ordination of Transitional Deacons Saturday, May 11 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Ordination to Transitional Diaconate is one of the final steps prior to Ordination to the Priesthood. Transitional Deacons serve in parishes for one year as they complete their studies along with other elements of the program of priestly formation. Read more about the new deacons here.
