St. Edmond’s Home for Children in Rosemont blessed and dedicated Mary’s House, a community-based home for young adults with disabilities on July 22. Located in Villanova, the residence is the second of its kind opened by the Catholic Social Service’s ministry. Purchased by the Women’s Auxiliary for St. Edmond’s Home, Mary’s House will provide care to four young adult women with disabilities who formerly resided at St. Edmond’s and aged beyond the care model. Located in Villanova (Delaware County), the fully renovated house meets accessibility standards set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Key features include a beautiful home environment, private bedrooms, and a therapeutic bathtub.

Mary’s House resident Lauren with her mother in her new bedroom. Lauren and the other residents will retain round-the-clock support professionals as well as a nurse to meet their complex medical needs.
Mary’s House and its programs will provide the residents with a continuum of care with dignity that supports their need for independence.
