Dr. Katherine M. Nobles has been appointed Principal of Archbishop Wood High School, according to a Aug. 13 announcement from the archdiocesan Office for Catholic Education. The appointment becomes effective Monday, Aug. 19.
Nobles succeeds former principal Cloe O’Grady who retired at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year after four years of dedicated service.
Nobles has 12 years of experience in education, with nine as a classroom teacher focused on mathematics and theology at several Archdiocesan high schools, including Archbishop Wood. She most recently served as Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs at Archbishop Wood.
Previously, Nobles served as Mathematics Curriculum Committee Chairperson and as an Ad Hoc Instructional Coaching Committee member for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Nobles holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Mathematics from Temple University, a Master of Pastoral Theology from Saint Joseph College of Maine, a Master of Education from Cabrini College, and a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University.
She also holds active Pennsylvania certifications in secondary mathematics, middle school mathematics, middle school science, and STEAM.
