Sister Alma Bernadette Hurley, SSJ
Sister Alma Bernadette Hurley SSJ, (formerly Ada Marie Hurley), age 91, died September 1, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late Alfred and Grace (Kennedy) Hurley, she attended
Holy Comforter Grade School and St. Cecilia Academy in Washington, D.C.
In September 1952 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1960.
Sister Alma ministered in the Dioceses of Allentown, Baltimore, Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Sister of the late Roseann Kowal, Doris Hurley, Cecilia Settle and Mildred Stewart, she is survived by 15 beloved nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Visitation by relatives and friends will begin at 9:30 am on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave, Flourtown, Pa 19031.
