Sister Joan Mickey SSJ, (formerly S. Theresa Michael), age 77, died September 11, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rita (nee McCloskey) Mickey. She attended St. Pius X Grade School in Broomall, Pa and Archbishop Prendergast High School.

Sister Joan entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph Chestnut Hill, in September 1965 and professed Final Vows August 1973.

Sister Joan ministered in the Dioceses of Paterson, NJ and Philadelphia.

She was the sister of the late Joseph Mickey and sister, Rita Mendel.
She is survived by her brother Robert Mickey (Helen), her sister Maureen Cohen (Spencer), nieces, nephews and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

Visitation by relatives and friends will begin at 9:30 am on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
