Ted Qualli has been named the next president and CEO of The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia.

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP), which manages the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s annual Catholic Charities Appeal, has welcomed a new president and chief executive officer (CEO).

In a Sept. 26 announcement, CFGP announced the appointment of Ted Qualli as president and CEO, effective Oct. 16. Qualli will succeed Sarah O. Hanley who announced March 25 her retirement after serving at the organization since its inception in 2013 and as president and CEO since 2019.

“The opportunity to lead an organization with such an important mission, impact, and alignment with my faith and values is an honor,” said Qualli. “I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and passionate staff, and to meeting and listening to the donors and Catholic institutions doing the important work to advance our faith and serve the community.”

In his new role, Qualli will lead CFGP as it implements a new five-year strategic plan designed to grow its assets, according to the announcement.

Prior to joining CFGP, Qualli served as Director of Marketing and Communications at the Philadelphia Foundation for the last three years leading communications, marketing, and public relations efforts. Prior to joining the Philadelphia Foundation, he served as Executive Director of the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (PAL) for eight years.

Qualli holds a B.A. in English from Holy Family University and a M.A. in Professional Communication from LaSalle University. He and his wife have three children, ages six, eight, and 11.

“Ted brings to The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia nearly two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership. His proven success engaging community, fundraising and implementing strategic plans will be pivotal as we begin this new chapter,” said Richard T. Clark, Chairman of the Board.
