The goal of the Jubilee Year 2025 is to offer pilgrims opportunities for reconciliation, indulgences, prayer, and reception of the sacraments in their local communities.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will celebrate the opening of the Jubilee Year with Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 11:00 a.m.

That celebration of the holy Eucharist will mark the culmination of a pilgrimage of families traveling from throughout the Philadelphia region to the Cathedral. The Mass will be broadcast via live streaming video at https://vimeo.com/event/2470138.

Prior to that opening celebration, parishes are invited to pray during the general intercessions in the Masses for the Fourth Sunday of Advent, at Christmas and for Holy Family Sunday Dec. 29 for the Jubilee Year with the following formula:

For an outpouring of graces and blessings upon the clergy and faithful during the Jubilee Year, that as Pilgrims of Hope, we may be eager to follow the Gospel with renewed fidelity to its truth and with Christian lives marked by virtue and freedom from sin.

Let us pray to the Lord/Lord, hear our prayer.
