Reverend John J. Kilgallon, Retired, died on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

Father Kilgallon was born on May 6, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late John P. Kilgallon and the late Mary M. Boland. Father Kilgallon attended Most Precious Blood Elementary School, Saint Matthew Elementary School, and Saint Matthew High School Conshohocken, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Kilgallon was ordained on May 17, 1969, at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol. Father Kilgallon served as Parochial Vicar, Saint Patrick Parish, Malvern, Our Mother of Sorrow Parish, Philadelphia, Saint John of the Cross Parish, Philadelphia. He served on the Faculty at Cardinal O’Hara High School, and West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School, Philadelphia. He served as Pastor, Saint Francis deSales Parish, Philadelphia from 1989-1994. He also served as Parochial Vicar, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Southampton, from January 2005 until his retirement in 2018.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the William A. Moore Funeral Home, 708 Fayette Street, Conshohocken.

The Reception of the Body will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM, followed by visitation at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Southampton. Most Reverend Edward Deliman will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Gerald D. Canavan, Reverend James J. McKeaney, Reverend Maisano, Reverend Michael J. Pawelko, Reverend Robert G. Suskey, and Reverend Monsignor Thomas Flanigan will be the homilist.

Father Kilgallon survived by his brother, Daniel, sister, Maureen, and many nephews, and nieces.

Interment will be held privately at Saint Matthew Cemetery, Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
