On Feb. 2, Archbishop Pérez celebrated Mass for the World Day for Consecrated Life at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Pope Saint John Paul II established in 1997 the World Day for Consecrated Life to be observed in conjunction with the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 2. The feast suggests a clear association with the offering of the Lord in the temple with the total and lifelong offering to God made by those in the consecrated life. This day calls all the members of the Church, especially those in the consecrated life, to give thanks for this vocation, to pray for the deepening of this vocation, and for many more to hear the call to the consecrated life.
