Seven Archdiocese of Philadelphia schools have advanced to the 2025 PIAA Basketball State Championship games at the Giant Center in Hershey, March 27-29.

Two championships will feature all archdiocesan finals as Lansdale Catholic will face Neumann-Goretti in the Girls’ 4A Finals while Father Judge meets Roman Catholic in the Boys’ 6A Finals.

All games will be aired live on PCN.


Girls’ Basketball (Brackets)

Girls’ Class 4A final – Lansdale Catholic vs. Neumann-Goretti, 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29: 

The Lansdale Catholic girls’ basketball team has an overall record of  23-5 this year. On March 22, the Crusaders defeated North Catholic High School from Cranberry Township (Butler County) in the semifinals. This is Head Coach Tom Lonergan’s first season at Lansdale and the school’s third appearance in four years in the State Championship game, which they last won in 2023.

The Neumann Goretti Girls’ Basketball Team has an overall record of 25-4 this year. In February, the Saints claimed the 2025 Philadelphia Catholic League Championship with a win over Archbishop John Carroll High School at the Palestra.  On March 22, the Saints defeated the Universal Audenried Charter High School in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia in the 5A Semifinals. The team seeks its sixth PIAA title in program history and advances to the finals for the first time since 2022. They are 5-0 all time in PIAA state championship games.

Girls’ Class 5A final – Archbishop Wood vs. South Fayette – 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29: 

The Archbishop Wood girls’ basketball team has an overall record of 22-7 this year and is led by Senior Emily Knouse and Sophomore Ryan Carter. Both have scored over 1,000 points in their high school careers. Archbishop Wood’s program is making its 13th appearance in the state finals. They have won four state consecutive titles and nine overall. On February 25, the Vikings defeated Freire Charter High School from Philadelphia to capture the District XII 5A crown.  The team is coached by Mike McDonald.


Boys’ Basketball  (Brackets)

Boys’ Class 4A final – Devon Prep* vs. Berks Catholic – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27

The Devon Prep basketball team has an overall record of 21-5 this year. On March 21, the Tide defeated District 2 champion Valley View in the PIAA Class 4A boys semifinals, 64-44. The program is led by head coach Jason Fisher.

Boys’ Class 5A final – Neumann-Goretti vs. Hershey – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 28

The Neumann Goretti boys’ basketball team has an overall record of 18-11 this year. Neumann Goretti’s boys’ program is making its 11th appearance in the state finals. They have won nine state titles, which they last won in 2022. On March 21, the Saints defeated Upper Moreland High School in Willow Grove (Montgomery County) in the 5A Semifinals. On Feb. 27, the team defeated Roxborough High School to capture the District XII 5A Championship.

Boys’ Class 3A final – West Catholic vs. South Allegheny – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29

The West Catholic boys’ basketball team has an overall record of 13-14 this year, and is making its second appearance in the state finals. They won the title in 2023 after defeating Deer Lake, 83-55. On Feb. 26, the Burrs claimed the District XII 3A title over Audenried Charter with a score of 65-46. On March 22, the team edged Holy Cross, 58-57, in the 3A semifinals.

Boys’ Class 6A final – Father Judge vs. Roman Catholic – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29

Father Judge boys’ basketball team has an overall record of 23-7 this season, and  is making its first-ever appearance in the state finals in program history. Junior Derrick Morton-Rivera scored his 1,000th career point this season. Father Judge defeated Roman Catholic, 55-51, on Jan. 23, and on Feb. 23, 41-34, in the PCL Championship game. The program is led by Chris Roantree, a 1999 graduate of the school.

Roman Catholic boys’ basketball team has an overall record of 24-5 this season. Roman is making its sixth appearance in the state finals, with its most recent trip in 2023 when it finished runner-up. They have won four PIAA championships in program history. Senior Shareef Jackson scored his 1,000th point earlier this season.
