Villa Maria Academy High School in Malvern will adopt a new governance model beginning July 1 with the appointments of Sister Stephen Anne Rodriguez, IHM, Ed.D., as president, and Dr. Jane C. Hannon as principal.
The shift, aimed at strengthening both academic and operational leadership, reflects best practices in Catholic secondary education.
Sister Stephen Anne, currently associate head of the school at Villa Maria, brings over 50 years of experience in Catholic education. Dr. Hannon joins Villa Maria from Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia, where she served as Assistant Principal and Dean of Academics. She succeeds Sister Regina Ryan, IHM, who led the school since 2012 and will begin a new ministry at the end of the 2024–2025 academic year.
“I am confident that these two seasoned educational leaders will collaborate with the stakeholders of the Villa community to build on its accomplishments of the past and to lead Villa Maria into a vibrant future immersed in the IHM Charism,” said Sister Mary Ellen Tennity, General Superior of the IHM Congregation.
Villa Maria, sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, serves 429 students in grades 9–12 on its 45-acre campus in Malvern.
