
Sister Ann Louise Impink, SSND
Anne Louise Impink was born on in Reading, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Mary Impink. Her family was completed by her sister Mary and brother Raymond.
The Impink family were devout members of St. Paul Church in Reading, PA. Ann Louise and her siblings were baptized at St. Paul and received all their sacraments there as well.
Ann Louise entered the Sisters of Christian Charity in Mendham, New Jersey In 1952 at the age of 13. She professed first vows on August 21, 1959. In 1968, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Misericordia College. Ann Louise would remain with the Sisters of Christian Charity until October 19, 1985, when she transferred her vows to the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
In her ministries, she served as teacher, Director of Religious Education, Pastoral Associate, and hospital chaplain. Anne’s first mission as a School Sister of Notre Dame was to serve in the schools for the Archdiocese of Newark. This mission was followed by serving as Director of Religious Education and in pastoral ministry for Our Lady of Providence in Neptune, NJ. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Mundelein College in 1988.
From 1988 to 1992, Anne Louise she served as a kindergarten teacher and Director of Religious Education at St. Boniface in Philadelphia, PA.
A highlight of her ministry came in 1992 when she was missioned to La Paz, Bolivia for a year. Upon her return home, Ann Louise served in numerous positions as teacher and Director of Religious Education at schools and parishes in including St. Peter Elementary School in Philadelphia where she spent 19 years. From 1995 to 1997, she was Director of Religious Education at St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral in Camden, New Jersey and Pastoral Associate at St. Rose of Lima in Freehold, New Jersey. She would later serve as Director of Religious Education at St. Joachim Parish in Philadelphia, PA for four years from 1998-2002. While living at the St Peter Convent, she spent 12 years as Chaplain at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, PA from 2003-2015. She entered her ministry of Prayer and Presence at Villa Assumpta in 2019 and Stella Maris in 2021.
At 5:45PM on May 30, 2025, Ann Louise entered eternal glory at Stella Maris after a day shared praying with her sisters. She is remembered fondly for her love of butterflies and dancing.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday, will be offered on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Villa Assumpta, 6401 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21212.
