Sister James Xavier Landi, SSJ, age 85, died on May 26, 2025, at Saint Joseph Villa.

The daughter of the late Tullio and Mary (nee Olier) Landi, she attended St. Rose Grade School and St. Rose High School in Belmar, NJ.

In September 1960 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1968.

Sister James ministered in the dioceses of Metuchen, Newark, Philadelphia, Trento and Washington, DC.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Maria and Emma, and her brother Alexander. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Philadelphia.

Greeting of relatives and friends will begin at 9:30 AM on Friday June 6th, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave, Flourtown, Pa 19031.
