Catherine T. Dooley

Catherine T. Dooley, M.Ed., has been appointed Principal of Saint Lucy School for Children with Visual Impairments in Northeast Philadelphia, effective July 1, 2025.

Dooley has served as interim principal since March, following the departure of Sister Lisa Lettiere, I.H.M., after 11 years of service.

In her interim role, Dooley led day-to-day operations, collaborated with Saint Jerome Parish School to enhance the inclusion program, and supported faculty in advancing students’ academic and spiritual development.

With more than 30 years in Catholic education, Dooley is also a Registered Nurse and holds degrees in education and nursing from Holy Family University and La Salle University.

St. Lucy is one of three schools of special education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. St. Lucy School for Children with Visual ImpairmentsOur Lady of Confidence School, and St. Katherine School meet the needs of students with visual and sensory impairments, physical impairments as well as those on the autism spectrum in the tradition of Catholic education and values.

Founded in 1955, St. Lucy School for Children with Visual Impairments provides a faith-based learning environment focused on academic excellence and the Expanded Core Curriculum.
