The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia will celebrate a milestone this fall as they host their 30th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 29, at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester.
The event continues a three-decade tradition of bringing together community members in support of the retired sisters who have spent their lives in ministry.
Participants can register as individual golfers or as part of a foursome, with sponsorship opportunities also available. The day’s schedule includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf, raffle prizes, cash awards, food and refreshments, and a seated dinner to close out the event.
Promoted as a “day of connection and purpose,” the tournament offers more than just friendly competition.
“Celebrate three decades of fellowship and philanthropy on the green as we come together to support the mission and ministries of the Sisters of St. Francis,” the sisters shared in a July 2 Facebook post.
All proceeds from the event benefit the congregation’s elder and retired sisters, many of whom have served for decades in Catholic education, healthcare, and social justice ministries.
The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, a community of approximately 265 Catholic women religious, have been living out the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis and foundress Mother Francis Bachmann for generations. Their mission focuses on justice, peace, and compassionate service.
