Sister Normandie Gaitley, SSJ, (formerly Sister Marie Justin), age 81, died on June 26, 2025, at Saint Joseph Villa.

The daughter of the late Francis and Marie (nee Martin) Gaitley, she attended Sacred Heart Grade School in Manoa, Pa. and Archbishop Prendergast High School.

In September 1962 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1970.
Sister Normandie ministered in the dioceses of Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Trenton, Washington D.C. and Wilmington.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Denise Shaw. She is survived by her brother Francis P. “Frank” Gaitley, Jr., nieces, nephews and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Philadelphia.

Visitation by relatives and friends will begin at 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be livestreamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
