Catholic men, and their wives if married, with a deep spiritual life who are between the ages of 29 and 55, are invited to join for a Permanent Diaconate information session exploring the call to serve Jesus Christ and his church within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as permanent deacons. The session will take place Thursday, Sept. 25 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

In Sept. 2022, the Office of Permanent Deacons premiered a 9-minute documentary on the Permanent Diaconate in Philadelphia, entitled “Called to Service,” which answers the question, “Who is the deacons?” While educating the viewer on the origins of the diaconate, as well as identifying the sacramental union with all of the clergy, the video focuses on the deacon’s main charism of charity and how he lives out this charism in the world through his ministry, in his secular vocation, and for those who are married – in his marriage and family life.
