Sister Dolores Kathleen died in Camilla Hall on July 27, 2025 in the 77^th year of her religious life. Kathleen’s parents, Edward and Marie Gain, raised their large family in St. Rose of Lima Parish in Haddon Heights, NJ.

Kathleen went to St. Rose of Lima Elementary School (1933-1941) and Haddon Heights High School (1941-1945). While in Community, Sister earned her BA degree in Elementary Education from Immaculata College.

Kathleen entered the Community on February 2, 1948, she received her habit and her religious name, Sister Dolores Kathleen, on August 16, 1948. On August 15, 1950, Sister Dolores Kathleen pronounced her First Vows.

Sister Kathleen’s teaching ministry spanned the years 1950 through 1978. Sister served children in grades 1 – 7 in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Sister lovingly taught children in St. Rose Eddystone, St. Agnes West Chester, St. Katharine of Siena Wayne, St. Margaret Mary Essington, and Saints Agatha, Joachim, and Most Blessed Sacrament in Philadelphia.

In December 1978 Sister began a different but equally important ministry at Camilla Hall where, with an ever-present smile, she served our Sisters with her awesome clerical skills. Sister Kathleen’s pleasant manner and skills proved to be an asset in the business office throughout her years of faithful, fruitful, and generous service.

Sister Dolores Kathleen is survived by her IHM Community and her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Sister is predeceased by her parents Edward A. Gain and Marie V. (Kane) Gain, her sisters Marguerite Stanley (Henry) and Marie Lewis (Edward and Alfred), and her brothers Robert B. (Rosemary), Edward A. Jr. (Dolly) and Thomas F. Gain.

Reverend Francis Chambers, OSA, celebrated Sister Kathleen’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
