National Centre for Padre Pio
For the first time in the United States, faithful across the five-county Archdiocese are invited to venerate a full-size, authentic sacred habit worn by St. Pio of Pietrelcina. This rare and historic opportunity will take place at the National Centre for Padre Pio in Barto from Saturday, Oct. 11, through Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025.
The habit, an enduring symbol of Padre Pio’s humility and devotion, will arrive from the Capuchin Friary in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, and be displayed at the Centre, which has been designated a Jubilee site within the Diocese of Allentown.
The weekend opens Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Mass celebrated by the Capuchin Friars of San Giovanni Rotondo, accompanied by music from the Saint Agnes Schola, followed by a procession of Padre Pio’s statue.
Sunday features a 12:30 p.m. Mass and an anticipated Mass at 4 p.m., each followed by a procession.
On Monday, Bishop Ronald Gainer will celebrate Mass in English at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. Italian Mass led by the Capuchin Friars.
The event concludes Tuesday with Masses at 10:30 a.m. (English, celebrated by Bishop Alfred Schlert) and 2 p.m. (Italian).
Italian food and cold beverages will be available for purchase each day.
