
Reverend Louis J. Kolenkiewicz
Reverend Louis J. Kolenkiewicz, Resident, Villa Saint Joseph, Darby, died on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
Father Kolenkiewicz was born on June 20, 1967, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Louis S. Kolenkiewicz and the late Margaret Mary Krenslak. Father Kolenkiewicz attended Saint John Cantius and Our Lady of Calvary Elementary School, Philadelphia and Archbishop Ryan High School for Boys, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Kolenkiewicz was ordained on May 15, 1993, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by his Eminence Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua. Father Kolenkiewicz served as Parochial Vicar, Saint Gabriel Parish, Norwood; Saint John Bosco Parish, Hatboro; Saint Ignatius Parish, Yardley; Saint Bede the Venerable Parish, Holland, and Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia. He served as Parochial Administrator, and Pastor, Our Lady of Peace Parish, Milmont Park. He also served as Chaplain to the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters at the Convent of Divine Love.
Most Reverend Efren V. Esmilla celebrated the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Calvary Church, Philadelphia, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass were Reverend Peter J. DiMaria, Reverend Monsignor John C. Marine, Reverend Zachary W. Navit, Reverend James Mayer, O.de.M,, Reverend Michael S. Olivere, and Reverend Monsignor George A. Majoros, who was the homilist.
Father Kolenkiewicz is survived by his father brother Thomas (Navy), sisters Angela DeVos (Dean), Catherine DeGregorio (Rob), and several nieces and nephews.
Interment was at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
