Sister Clare Moran SSJ, (formerly S. Mary Herbert), age 85, died on September 18, 2025, at Saint Joseph Villa.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (nee Lutrell) Moran, she attended St. Andrew Grade School and Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, NJ.

In September 1959 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1967.

Sister Clare ministered in the dioceses of Camden, Newark, and Philadelphia.

She is preceded in death by her sister Mary Naganast, and her brother, Joseph. She is survived by many beloved friends and the members of her Congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to St. Joseph Villa beginning at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, October 1st. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
