The African Catholic Community of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will hold its 11th annual African Family Heritage Mass on Sunday, Oct. 12, with a liturgy celebrating the cultural richness and diversity of African Catholics in the region.

The Mass will take place at 1:00 p.m. at St. Irenaeus Church in Southwest Philadelphia. Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez is scheduled to preside over the celebration, which will feature a vibrant blend of languages, music, and traditions.

Faithful from countries including Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Congo, and Ivory Coast will participate, with many attendees invited to wear traditional attire representing their ancestral homelands. The celebration will be both multilingual and multicultural, reflecting the unity and diversity of the African Catholic experience.
