Hundreds of African Catholics from across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia filled St. Irenaeus Church in Southwest Philadelphia on Oct. 12 for the 11th annual African Family Heritage Mass. Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez presided over the liturgy, which celebrated the faith and cultural heritage of communities from more than a dozen African countries. Attendees donned traditional attire and shared music, languages, and customs in a display of unity and devotion. (Photos by Sarah Webb)
