Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez is inviting Catholics across the region to take part in a planning study aimed at strengthening the local Church for future generations.

In a video message released Jan. 29 and shared on social media, the archbishop reflected on months of listening to parishioners, priests, and families through the Trust and Hope initiative’s listening sessions, noting both the challenges facing the Church and the need for faith and courage in the present moment. Watch the video message here.

The Trust and Hope initiative is rooted in the archbishop’s January 2025 pastoral letter, Trust and Hope, which serves as a roadmap to guide the local Church in its mission of renewal and evangelization.

The planning study, he said, will help guide discernment on how best to support parishes and priests, serve those in need, and invite more people into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The study is being conducted in partnership with the Steier Group and will inform a future campaign to grow and sustain the Church in the region. The archbishop encouraged all who have not yet participated to share their perspectives and hopes for the future of the Church of Philadelphia.

The survey is available at TrustandHope.org.
