Sister Jane K. Field SSJ, formerly S. Shawn Kathleen, age 76, died on February 26, 2026, at Saint Joseph Villa.

The daughter of the late John and Mary Kathleen (nee Strausbaugh) Field, she attended Ocean City Grade School and Ocean City High School.

In September 1972 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1980.

Sister Jane ministered in the diocese of Philadelphia.

She is preceded in death by her brother John Field. She is survived by her sister Sally Sabatino, her brother and sister-in-law Stephen (Claire) Field, her brother Rev. Michael Field, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and members of her Congregation the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to Saint Joseph Villa beginning at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026. A Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live-streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
