Sister Marguerite H. Riviello, SSJ
Sister Marguerite H. Riviello SSJ, (formerly S. Joseph Roberta,) age 96, died on April 5, 2026, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late Robert Gabriel and Josephine (Ilaria) Riviello, she attended St. Augustine Grade School in Newark, NJ and Our Lady of the Valley in Orange, NJ.
In September 1947 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1955.
Sister Marguerite ministered in the dioceses of Newark, Philadelphia and Wilmington DE.
She is preceded in death by her brother Samuel Riviello and sisters Caroline Rotunda, Adeline Strunning and Roberta Ponzio. She is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, dear friend Marilyn Granahan and members of her congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.
Family and friends are invited to Saint Joseph Villa on April 10, 2026, beginning at 9:30 am. A Mass will follow at 10:30 am. Services will be livestreamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
