Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez celebrated the annual Chrism Mass on April 2 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul in Center City, Philadelphia. Priests from across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia gathered to concelebrate the Mass with the archbishop and to renew their priestly promises.
During the liturgy, Archbishop Pérez blessed the Oil of Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick and consecrated the sacred Chrism. These holy oils will be distributed to parishes throughout the archdiocese and used in the celebration of the Sacraments during the coming year. (Photos by Sarah Webb)
