Religious men and women celebrate 14,600 years of consecrated life

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput celebrated this year's Annual Religious Jubilarian Mass on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul. The Mass honors religious priests, sisters and brothers celebrating milestone anniversaries of 25 years or more. Of this year’s 253 jubilarians, 100 attended the Mass with their guests.

Students head back to school for the 2013-2014 school year

The 2013-2014 school year began in many ways throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The year started off with Mass at Cardinal John Foley Regional School in Havertown and St. Charles Seminary in Wynnewood. At St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, Philadelphia, administrators were joined by officials from the Office of Catholic Education and Holy Family University to sign an agreement that entered both schools into a collaborative educational partnership.

It’s moving in day for new men at St. Charles Seminary

The College and Theology Division seminarians of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary returned to campus to mark the start of the academic year on Tuesday, Aug. 20 beginning with registration and moving-in to the dorms. This fall, over 40 new men will be entering seminary for the first time from approximately nine dioceses and religious orders, including approximately eight men from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

SS. Simon and Jude Parish celebrates one-day-long Vacation Bible Camp

SS. Simon and Jude Parish in West Chester held its annual Vacation Bible Camp on Sunday, July 21. The theme this year was "One Day Fun Day Sunday" since unlike other years it was a one-day camp for children ages 3 to 12 years and their families.
