Msgr. Daniel A. Murray

Msgr. Daniel A. Murray, pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in North Wales, died Thursday, June 26.

Born in Philadelphia, he graduated from St. Thomas More High School before studying at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary the Gregorian University, Pontifical North American College, in Rome, Italy. He was ordained July 12, 1964 in Rome and named a monsignor in 1986.

Msgr. Murray served on the faculty at St. Charles Seminary from 1970 through 1988, and served as rector there from 1988 through 1994. He was appointed pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Drexel Hill, where he served for 10 years, and was named pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, North Wales, in June 2004.

The reception of the body of Msgr. Murray at St. Rose Church will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 with a viewing to follow and preceding a parish Mass at 7 p.m.

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput will celebrate the funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday, July 2 at 11 a.m. with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m.
