First Week of Lent

St. Francis of Assisi Church (136 Saxer Avenue, Springfield), March 5 at 7 p.m. “Seven Last Words of Christ” (part one).  The program will consist of Evening Prayer, Benediction, and a talk entitled “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” The speaker will be Msgr. Second Week of Lent

Our Lady of Fatima Church (1 Fatima Drive, Secane), March 12 at 7 p.m. “Seven Last Words of Christ” (part two). The program will consist of Evening Prayer, Benediction, and a talk entitled “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” The speaker will be Msgr. Paul Dougherty, pastor of St. Margaret Parish in Narberth and a chaplain of the Archdiocesan Deaf Apostolate. A social will follow the program. All are invited to attend. Third Week of Lent

St. Madeline Church (Penn Street and Morton Avenue, Ridley Park), March 19 at 7 p.m. “Seven Last Words of Christ” (part three). The program will consist of Evening Prayer, Benediction, and a talk entitled “Woman, this is your Son. This is your mother.” The speaker will be Kelly Anderson, assistant professor of Biblical Studies at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. A social will follow the program. All are invited to attend. Fourth Week of Lent

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (2130 Franklin Avenue, Morton), March 26 at 7 p.m. “Seven Last Words of Christ” (part four). The program will consist of Evening Prayer, Benediction, and a talk entitled “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” The speaker will be Father Steven Kiernan, parochial vicar at Mother of Divine Providence Parish, King of Prussia. Fifth Week of Lent

Our Lady of Peace Church (200 Milmont Avenue, Milmont Park), April 2 at 7 p.m. “Seven Last Words of Christ” (part five). The program will consist of Evening Prayer, Benediction, and a talk entitled “I thirst.” The speaker will be Sister Anne Amati, O.S.F., from the retreat ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis in Philadelphia. Sixth Week of Lent

St. Gabriel Church (233 Mohawk Avenue, Norwood), April 9 at 7:00 pm. “Seven Last Words of Christ” (part six, final session). The program will consist of Evening Prayer, Benediction, and a talk entitled “It is finished. Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” The speaker will be Father Anthony J.
