Catholic Schools Week

The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 27-Feb. 2, is “Catholic Schools the Raise the Standards” and Catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are preparing to show off their high standards. The kick-off event for the week takes place when Bishop Daniel Thomas and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter visit Immaculate Heart of Mary School Monday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m. Dozens more schools are planning events all week – find a school near you in this Catholic Schools Week supplement to CatholicPhilly.com. Principal and student from Pope John Paul II High School honored by chamber of commerce

Two members of the school community at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford recently received unexpected recognition from the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. The chamber named Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister Janet Purcell, principal of Pope John Paul II, as educator of the year, and George Harmansky, a senior at the school, was selected for the Future Community Leader award.
