La Salle U honors top IT exec of Philadelphia Archdiocese

La Salle University honored Franz Fruehwald, chief information officer for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and a La Salle alumnus, with its 10th annual IT Leadership Award at a ceremony Nov. 10.


Veterans honored at Cheltenham school assembly, lunch

St. Joseph’s Prep marks 125th anniversary of Church of the Gesu

Former parishioners gather again at Church of the Gesu in North Philadelphia to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the church, which now serves as a chapel to nearby St. Joseph's Preparatory School. The parish closed in 1993. Posted on November 20th, 2013

Warrington students make, sell cupcakes for cancer cure

Students of St. Joseph/St. Robert School in Warrington held a “Cupcakes for a Cancer Cure” event this month that raised $200 to support families that have a loved one receiving cancer treatment.

Quarter-ton of peanut butter & jelly collected by King of Prussia school

Following Jesus’ directive to feed the poor and under the leadership of the student council, Mother Teresa of Calcutta (MTC) Regional Catholic School in King of Prussia collected 8,995 ounces of peanut butter and jelly throughout the month of October for the local Norristown office of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

St. Bridget Parish in the East Falls section of Philadelphia hosted a talk by Louise Feder of the Michener Museum in Doylestown on Grace Kelly Nov. 3 at the church.

Kelly and her siblings were all baptized in St. Bridget Church, and her family was an integral part of the parish’s history. Some current parishioners remember her as a child sitting in the pews of the church.
