The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced Friday, March 16 that general counsel Tim Coyne, who manages legal affairs, had been placed on administrative leave.
There was no explanation or comment from the Archdiocese. Spokesman Kenneth Gavin said, “It’s a personnel issue; therefore we won’t be discussing it publicly.”
Ordinary legal matters of archdiocesan entities will be handled by the law firm of Conrad O’Brien in Coyne’s absence.

I was wondering why transparency is not being used in this matter, I am wondering if the lawyers for the Archdiocese are to be held accountable for improper decisions made in the past.
If it won’t be discussed publicly, why was an email sent to all the parishes announcing this?
