Sister Marian A. Pfaff, S.S.J., formerly Sister Adelina, died June 17 at the age of 95. Sister Marian was born inPhiladelphia, the daughter of Charles E. and Mary A. Edwards Pfaff.
She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph from St. Matthew Parish inPhiladelphia’sMayfairsection Sept. 8, 1934. Sister Marian served in the Archdioceses of Philadelphia andNewark,N.J., and the diocese ofAlexandria,Va.
Sister Marian is preceded in death by her brother Charles and her sister Ann Pfaff. She is survived by her brother William (Jean) and her sister Margaret. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and members of her community, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated June 21, followed by burial in the community cemetery.
