Students of SS. Philip and James School, Exton, donated non-perishable food items and monetary contributions Feb. 28 to the Chester County Food Bank in Downingtown.
The drive took place along with the fundraising efforts for Spring Fling 2013, the major fundraising event for the school scheduled for April 6.
SS. Philip and James is relying on the local community to help with sponsorships and donations for this fundraising event.
The school is helping to foster the spirit of kindness during this Lenten season by simply giving to those in need in the local community by donating to the Chester County Food Bank.
The food donations of 350 non-perishable items and a cash donation of $200 were delivered to the organization while a portion of the amount collected was donated, in the name of the students, toward the Spring Fling raffle/auction efforts.
