Archbishop Charles Chaput has requested all parishes in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to take up a special collection during June to support relief efforts for people affected by the tornadoes that devastated Oklahoma last month.
The collection is part of a national initiative led by New York Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, to benefit the victims of natural disasters throughout the nation.
All contributed funds will support Catholic Charities’ relief efforts for tornado victims and other victims of natural disasters.
The collection will take place on the weekend of either June 8-9 or June 15-16 at the discretion of individual pastors.
