CatholicPhilly.com won two awards from the Catholic Press Association at a presentation June 21, part of the annual Catholic Media Convention in Denver, Colo.

The official news website of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and digital successor to The Catholic Standard and Times won third place for “Best General Publisher Website.” The award citation noted CatholicPhilly.com’s “clean navigation,” which invites readers to explore the site for Catholic news and information that is updated daily.

In the “Best Electronic Newsletter” category, CatholicPhilly.com captured honorable mention status. The award citation noted the newsletter’s “lively content, clean presentation; calls you to click.”

The free weekly newsletter was launched in July 2012 and now is sent via email to more than 2,000 subscribers. Each edition includes links to about a dozen local, national and world news items and Archbishop Charles Chaput’s weekly column, feature stories on Catholics, commentaries and arts and culture articles of interest to Catholics.

CatholicPhilly.com’s newsletter was the only such entry produced by a Catholic diocese to win the award.
